Yes, very sore this morning. Friday's 14.2 WOD really roughed me up.
Every 3 minutes for as long as possible complete:
From 0:00-3:00
2 rounds of:
10 overhead squats #95
10 chest-to-bar pull-ups
From 3:00-6:00
2 rounds of:
12 overhead squats #95
12 chest-to-bar pull-ups
Etc., following same pattern until you fail to complete both rounds
I really thought I could go longer, but the arms gave out long before the mind and the breath. Scored 58. Made it to the second round, then the chest to bar pullups took it out of me. I should be happy, but I kick myself for not being stronger here. Speed is key- must get the dolphin kick kip style down. Ben mentioned that the OHS's would be easy and he was right, however that's the seduction- the legs are easy its the constant strain on the core and the arms holding the weight up that kill you. During the WOD he said my grip was too wide, bringing it in probably helped quite a bit, but I was too exhausted to really see it at the time. Again-strength was the killer. The first set of OHS was unbroken- then slowly faltered to 2's and 3's. Afterwards, I did 100 burpees just to get the feeling of a workout as it ended so quickly and disappointingly. Interestingly enough, as I predicted, the Open rankings are all over the chart while as folks w/ weak DU's rise up w/ big numbers and cardio jockeys w/o strong core/upper body strength fall. Looking forward to see how I end up.As of right now I'm 322nd out of 1233 in my division & 3307th out of 10,913 worldwide. 26% & 30% respectively...Still happy bout that rank of crazy among crazies.Saturday, I awoke with very sore lats. Completed an awesome partner WOD- Paul and I worked really well together w/400m runs interspersed with 100 DU'ers, 80 #135 dead lifts, 60 partner burpees, 40 #135 Front Rack squats, 20 #135 lunges, 10 HSPU. Took us about 30 minutes. Felt great to be on our feet w/ the wind in our faces despite the 30 degree temps. I did most of the lunges & DU's the rest was very equitable. Front Rack lunges are really scary- no matter the weight which was moderately heavy for me at that rep scheme. I felt amped and strong & could have kept on going all day long.
Today is a rest day- some yoga, cleaning house & work. Going to be a long week-travel to Philadelphia & NYC. Excited and scared to do the open WOD at an affiliate in Philly.
