Home/work life have placed burdens of late- so apologies for the delay in posting. Finally, the season has turned a corner and started to match warmth to the lengthening hours of daylight. The past few workouts have started to add running, glorious running, to the mix(see below). Warm wind in the air and sun on the face without the requisite hats, gloves, scarves, leggings, etc... feels like a spiritual victory of the soul. My body still needs to re-adapt to the long distances, but over the short haul, last seasons neural pathway development(muscle memory) and this winter's hard cardio work all appear strong and intact.
Yesterday(past few days) felt horrendous, didnt eat well coupled with stress & lack of sleep put me in a foul mood, however a tough and fast session w/ Ramiro put me back on a good tack. In fact, that overshoot of physical pleasure continues! Snatches are really tough for me and a great failure in the Open- thus attendance was crucial. I scaled to #75 and worked through it trying to focus on form and stringing a few reps together.By the end-I was giddy with endorphins and in a much better place mentally and physically. The lesson- when you feel like crap- go work up a sweat- natures soul tonic.

Tuesday's endurance was fun. I had planned on just plodding through it, but got caught up in the chase of the fastest man out the door. After the first round, I found a good strong groove and was able to blast out the movements in a steady pace. They ran out of #30 DB's so I used a #32 KB which may have made things easier with the movements. Caught Dan on the last round, by getting out the door ahead of him while he struggled with a greater DB weight. The ex collegiate footballer is blazing fast on the short stretches, not to mention crazy alien strong, but the long runs are not his strong suit and WOD's like this clearly play to my strengths.
Tuesday's Endurance
4 Rnds For Time:
12 Burpees
16 DB Cleans (alternating arms)
20 Med-ball Sit-ups
Run 400m
